New York, N.Y.— The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) has announced that John Jay College freshman men’s soccer player Edward Gonzalez (Bayside, FL, Bayside) has been named the conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 6.

Maspeth, N.Y.— Freshman sensation Edward Gonzalez (Queens, NY, Bayside) registered all three of John Jay’s goals, including the game winner in the ninety-fourth minute in overtime as the John Jay men’s soccer team opened their 2010 home schedule with a win as the Bloodhounds beat SUNY Maritime 3-2 at the Metropolitan Oval on Monday afternoon.

Purchase, N.Y.— Last season the John Jay men’s soccer team failed to even score more than two goals in a game, and they only scored two goals in two games. But on Friday, the Bloodhounds put the ball past the crease four times, as the new look Bloodhounds rolled past SUNY Purchase with a 4-1 win on Friday evening.
