Springfield,, Mass.— Competing in its final race before next Sunday's showdown at the conference championship, the John Jay men's cross country team finished seventh of 12 at the Western New England Invitational on Saturday morning. The Bloodhounds, the lone City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) team to compete in the event, recorded 178 points at the invitational, while the hosts won the event with 74 points.

Mikey Babayev (Moscow, Russia, Forest Hills)was John Jay's top finisher as he finished 29th overall of 99 runners (29:53). Meanwhile, fellow teammate
Antonio Aguilar (Bronx, NY, Teaching and the Professions) was the second fastest Bloodhound to cross the finish line and was 31st overall (29:57).
Jemal Ninua was third for John Jay and was 41st overall (30:44), and teammate
Jaime Valentin was next for John Jay and 42nd overall (30:46).
Jessie Contrera was fifth for the Bloodhounds and was 61st overall (32:18).
Gabriel Rodriguez was 76th overall (34:04) for John Jay.
