Laura Moeser was two-year member of the rifle and pistol program from 1970-72. She was instrumental in forming and organizing the first rifle and pistol team at John Jay. Moeser helped the program get into the Intercollegiate Pistol League. During her career, she received a plaque in appreciation for outstanding performance after serving as team president. In her senior season, Moeser was the recipient of the MIRL G. Gibson Memorial Most Improved shooter award. Outside of John Jay, she appeared on the national TV show 'What's My Line'.
