New York, N.Y. — Christmas came a couple of days later for thirty youngsters as the John Jay baseball team joined together in celebrating the holiday season as the anticipated 2010 roster came together with a holiday party for its family members on December 27 at the Doghouse (fourth floor gym at 899 Tenth Avenue).
Nearly all the players were also on hand as the team partied as a symbol to celebrate the holiday season. The party consisted of games, food, singing, and a visit from Santa Claus. The team also sang their edition of the Twelve Days of Christmas, a tradition for John Jay baseball which hosts the Holiday party each season.
“The team always has a tremendous amount of fun interacting with the kids and helping the less fortunate,” said head coach, Dan Palumbo. “What's even more special is the team pays for the party itself with their own money, the gifts, the food, everything.”
The 2010 John Jay baseball season starts on Feb. 28 in Port Charlotte, Florida. The Bloodhounds face Capital University at 10 a.m. before facing John Carroll University at 2 p.m.
