New York, N.Y.— City University of New York Athletic Conference has announced that John Jay baseball player
Braylin Perez was named the conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 10.
Perez had practically a flawless week as the first year pitcher is beginning to make headway in the conference.
The 6-0 Perez pitched 10 innings this week and allowed one run (0.90 earned run average) on seven hits with five strikeouts. He went 1-0.
Perez pitched three scoreless innings and allowed no runs on no hits in the Bloodhounds' 6-3 win at SUNY Maritime on April 6. Then on April 9, he went the distance, allowing a run on seven hits in a 5-1 win over defending conference champion College of Staten Island at American Legion Field.
On the season, Perez has three wins and an earned run average of 4.56. He has tossed 51 1/3 innings and struck out 37 batters.
