Flushing, NY - John Jay College freshman Kaitlin Hicks has been named the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week, for the week ending September 8th.

In her collegiate debut, Hicks led the Bloodhounds with a medal-winning performance. She finished sixth overall, and first amongst CUNYAC rookies, in the 6K with a time of 28:20.

"Kaitlin has been very impressive since I met her and her family at an open house for prospective students last fall," head coach Tony Phillips said. "The team and the coaching staff look forward to seeing Kaitlin excel throughout the season."

Hicks and her teammates are back in action on Sunday, September 15 at the Queensborough Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
