J. Whitley Headshot

Jessica Whitley

Jessica Whitley (formerly Kolackovsky) is in her sixth season as head coach of the women’s swimming program.

In her previous five seasons as head coach, Whitley has been instrumental in a resurgence of the program. After a winless year in its first season, the Bloodhounds rebounded with five wins in Whitley's second season. Last season, the team recorded four wins and finished fifth in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.

The former division one swimmer also led the Bloodhounds to their best finish in program history during the 2011-2012 season as they finished 6-3 and third in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.

In addition, during the 2012-2013 season, Whitley and the women's swim team became the first-ever CUNYAC swim team to embark on a training trip to Puerto Rico.

A native of Franklin Square, N.Y., Whitley is a 2007 graduate of Seton Hall University, a Division I institution and a member of the very athletically renowned Big East Conference.

While at Seton Hall, Whitley was named team MVP during her career, was a Big East Academic All-Star, and championship qualifier as well as an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) championship qualifier.

Prior to taking the coaching reigns at John Jay, Whitley served as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2007-08 season.

Currently, she serves as the Aquatics Director at John Jay and has also assisted with teaching the basics and advanced swimming classes at the College.

She resides in Lake Hiawatha, NJ.
