Born in New York City, he attended Fordham University on a full tennis and squash scholarship, played number one singles and doubles and was MVP in both sports.  Widney has coached tennis and squash in New York and New Jersey for nearly thirty years.  He has worked with many top juniors and adults and the teams he has coached have won numerous NYC and NJ league championships. 

Widney is certified at the "elite" level by the United States Professional Tennis Association and is currently co-Director of Tennis at the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes, NJ.
