Vince Maiorino

Vince Maiorino is in his 16th season as head coach of the rifle team at John Jay College.

With over 40 years of rifle coaching experience, including 16 years of collegiate coaching at St. John’s University, Maiorino is a true veteran of the sport.

A former New York State Champion and competitive shooter himself, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. Vince is an International Coach and a Certified Rifle Coach, earning his certification at the United States Military Academy under two world famous coaches, Frank Briggs and Web Wright. Further coaching experience was gained when he had the opportunity to spend time at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

During his time at St. John’s, Vince coached twelve All-Americans and took the team to as many NCAA Rifle Championships.

At John Jay, the rifle team has won 11 MAC Championships during Maiorino’s tenure as head coach. He was named MAC Coach of the Year during the 2005-2006 and 2010-2011 seasons. In addition, the full-time Physical Education professor was given the Robert Ketzner Service Award in 2010 for his exemplary service to the MAC and the sport of Rifle shooting. 

Maiorino currently serves on the board of MAC Officers as the Executive Secretary.Â
