Box Score New York, N.Y.- The John Jay men's soccer team fell to 2-11-1 on the season after losing 3-1 to Centenary College at Riverbank State Park on a very rainy and damp Wednesday evening.
The visiting Cyclones attacked early, recording shot after shot on the Bloodhounds. But John Jay goalkeeper Edwin Casas (Bogota, Colombia/ South Side) vacuumed up the balls making four saves five minutes into the contest.
After being held without a shot for the first 30 plus minutes, the Bloodhounds made the most of their first shot of the game, scoring a goal off the foot of Kamal Haruna (Accra, Ghana/ Martin Luther King) assisted with an indirect kick from Michel Podbielski (Bellrose, NY/ Art & Design) at the 33:31 mark.
John Jay would hold the lead until midway through the second half when Centenary would record a trio of goals in the final 25 minutes of the contest, the latter two off the foot of Chris Guadango (West Milford, NJ/ West Milford), and the first coming from Chris Hill (Flanders, NJ/ Gill St. Bernard's).
Centenary outshot John Jay 16-4 for the game, and Casas made nine saves total in the loss.
John Jay will return to action on Sat. Oct. 14 at New York City Tech at 12 p.m.
