Bloodhounds Falls Hard to Hunter

New York, N.Y.- The John Jay men's soccer team fell hard on Wednesday afternoon as they lost to Hunter 5-1 at Riverbank State Park.

The visiting Hawks got on the board first at the 13:42 mark on a goal by Andreas Kalpaxis (Glendale, NY/ Townsend Harris) off a direct kick.

But the Bloodhounds would return the offer as Slawomir Balon (Brooklyn, NY/ Fort Hamilton) got John Jay on the board minutes later off a headed pass by Hiromi Karahashi (Kanagawa, Japan/ St. Johnsbury Academy).

Hunter then took the lead for good at the 26:06 mark and never looked back.

The Hawks tacked on three more goals in the second half to turn the game into a route.

Edwin Casas (Bogota, Colombia/ South Side) started in net allowing three goals in 46:44 of action. Alexander Callejas (Ellenville, NY/ John Burke Catholic) followed with 13:01 of action allowing the other two goals.

Michal Podbielski (Bellrose, NY/ Art & Design)  finished up the game making two saves as John Jay now stands at 2-12-2 (1-4-2 CUNYAC) this season.

The Bloodhounds will return to action on Sat. Oct. 21 vs. CCNY on Randall's Island at 4 p.m.
