Lexington, Va. - The John Jay rifle team hit the target once again this past weekend as they came away with a 1-1 record in both small bore and air rifle at the Virginia Military Academy this past weekend. The Bloodhounds fired a 2011 in small bore and 2125 in air rifle at the event.
Stephen Wilson (Freeport, NY/ Freeport) set two new records once again as he fired a 548 in small bore to set a new school record. He also fired a 185 in standing position (94 and 91) which was another school record. He also fired a team-high 561 in air rifle.
Fellow teammate Fawn Gross (Grand Island, NY/ Grand Island) shot a 494 in small bore and 530 in air rifle, while William Birmingham (Massapequa Park, NY/ Massapequa) recorded a 490 in small bore and 527 in air rifle.
David Ruth (New Milford, CT/ New Milford) targeted a 479 small bore score, while Jennifer Pedutem (Bloomfield, NJ/ Bloomfield) tallied up a 507 in air rifle for John Jay.
The Bloodhounds will return to action on Sat. Nov. 11 at the Univ. of Akron.
