Three Second Half Goals Allows Dolphins to Swim Away from Bloodhounds

New York, N.Y. — In what was an evenly matched contest most of the way the Bloodhounds could not keep their claws on the Dolphins the entire game as three second half goals by the College of Staten Island allowed the Dolphins to swim away with a 3-0 win over John Jay at Riverbank State Park on Saturday afternoon.
 
The loss puts John Jay at 1-5-0 (0-2-0) on the season, while CSI is now 2-4-0 (1-1-0).
 
39 fouls were committed (CSI 22, John Jay 17) in the contest as neither team gave an inch as the two were locked into a scoreless tie at halftime.
 
The Dolphins got on the board early in the second half with a goal off the foot of Thiago Carvalho (Brazil/ United Nations) at the 53:45 mark of the contest. It proved to be enough as Ronaldo Btesh (Buenos Aries, Argentina/ Yeshiva Rambam) made six saves (five in the second half) to pitch the shutout.
 
Adynka Olowu (Nigeria/ Port Richmond) and Anthony Rizzo (Staten Island, NY/ Wagner) would add insurance goals late for the Dolphins.
 
Christian Tapia (Fresh Meadows, NY/ Central Islip) recorded four shots for the Bloodhounds to lead the way for John Jay, while fellow teammate Daniel Munoz (Peoria, Colombia/ East Hampton) had three.
 
Edwin Casas (Bogota Colombia/ South Side) made five saves in the loss for John Jay.
 
The Bloodhounds return to action on Wed. Sept. 20 at Brooklyn College at 4:30 p.m.
