Brooklyn, N.Y.-- Lashannen Hogue (Yonkers, NY/ Roosevelt) contributed a team-high 15 points to go along with 10 rebounds, while Nasira Johnson (Newark, NJ/ West Side) added 13 points as John Jay rallied back from a six-point halftime deficit to defeat Medgar Evers College 52-46 on Friday night.

John Jay opened the game with a 7-2 lead four minutes into the contest, but the Cougars went on a 6-0 run to take an 8-7 lead.
Both teams went back-and-forth for the next several minutes, but with the score tied (13-13), Medgar Evers went on a 6-0 run to take the lead for the rest of the half.
John Jay outscored the Cougars 17-3 the first ten minutes of the second half to take a 37-29 lead and the Bloodhounds never trailed again in the contest.
Medgar Evers would get the deficit to as low as two points on two occasions, as late as 41-39 with 5:58 to play.
But John Jay went on an 8-2 late in the stanza to take a 49-41 lead with 2:36 to play, putting the game out of reach.
The win leaves John Jay at 11-5 (4-1 CUNYAC).
