Women's Tennis Falls on Road at Staten Island

Staten Island, N.Y.— The John Jay women’s tennis team lost at the College of Staten Island 5-4 on Thursday as the Bloodhounds closed out their 2007 regular season with a 4-9 (4-4 CUNYAC) record. Daisy Rivera (Bronx, NY / HS of Law, Gvt. and Justice) picked up two more wins on the afternoon. She won at first singles 6-0, 6-0 and teamed with Pamela Moreno (New York, NY / A. Phillip Randolph) for an 8-3 win at first doubles. Ariadna DiFabrizio (Mendoza, Argentina / Cobble Hill) was a winner at second singles winning 6-0, 6-1. John Jay now stands in fifth and will await to see who it will face in next week’s conference tennis tournament. John Jay, now in fifth place could potentially be apart of a four way tie for fourth with the College of Staten Island, CCNY, and Lehman College.
