Box Score New Loundon, CT--- It took nearly two years for it to happen but on Sunday the John Jay baseball team lost a conference regular season game as the Bloodhounds were defeated by Mitchell College 12-1.
The loss drops John Jay to 13-11 (8-1 CUNYAC) on the season.
The Bloodhounds were limited to three hits on the afternoon and received one hit a piece by Henry Chao, James DeCesare, and Tim Murphy. John Jay's lone run came in the sixth inning on an RBI single by DeCesare to drive in Murphy.
The host Pequots got two runs in the first and three runs in the second inning to take a 5-0 advantage.
After the Bloodhounds got their run back in the sixth, Mitchell broke the game open with five runs in the bottom of the seventh and two more in the eighth.
John Jay will return to action on Monday evening at Mt. St. Mary's College at 7 p.m.
