Women's Tennis Falls at Conference Rival Baruch College

Queens, N.Y.— The John Jay women’s team fell on Friday afternoon as the Bloodhounds were defeated by conference rival Baruch College, 6-3, at the York College Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon. John Jay is now 1-5 (1-2 CUNYAC) on this season.
 
Despite the loss senior Daisy Rivera (Bronx, NY / HS of Law, Gvt. and Justice) won a pair of matches in first flight competition. In No. 1 singles she came away with a 6-1, 6-0 win and teamed with Ariadna DiFabrizio (Mendoza, Argentina / Cobble Hill) to win No.1 doubles 8-1.
 
Elizabeth Cyran (Wood Ridge, NJ / Paramus Catholic) also claimed a win. At No.2 singles Cyran came away a 7-5, 6-0 winner.
 
John Jay returns to action on Mon. Sept. 24 against Medgar Evers College, 4 p.m. at the York College Tennis Complex.
