Men's Soccer Shutout at Mt. St. Vincent's

Yonkers, N.Y. – The John Jay men’s soccer team suffered a 7-0 loss on the road against the College of Mount Saint Vincent’s (CMSV) on Monday evening as the Bloodhounds fall to 4-5-1 on the season.
 
The host Dolphins scored their first goal of the game in the ninth minute of play and led start to finish.
 
CMSV got two more goals past starting goalkeeper Edwin Casas (Bogota, Colombia / South Side) midway through the first half to lead 3-0 at the break.
 
The Dolphins then put four more goals over the crease on reserve keeper Kemar Brown (Kingston, Jamaica / Martin Van Buren) to put the Bloodhounds back under .500 this season.
John Jay recorded 11 shots in the contest and got a team-high three from Christopher Tapia (Fresh Meadows, NY / Central Islip), and two a piece from Steven Castillo (Maspeth, NY / Forest Hills) and Oscar Garcia (East Elmhurst, NY / St. John’s Prep).
 
Casas made two saves in net in the opening half while Brown stopped four in the final 45 minutes of action.
 
John Jay returns to action on Wed. Sept. 26 against FDU-Florham, 6 p.m. at the Metropolitan Oval.
