Men's Soccer Season Ends after 2-1 Loss to City Tech

Flushing, N.Y.— The John Jay men’s soccer team was defeated on the road Wednesday afternoon as the Bloodhounds were defeated by New York City Tech, 2-1, at Flushing Meadow Park. Andres Llanos scored John Jay’s lone goal. With the loss, John Jay’s season comes to an end.
 
John Jay outshot the host Yellow Jackets 14-12 and had a game-high six from Henrique Avellar. Jemal Ninua added four for the Bloodhounds who had 10 on net.
 
New York City Tech took the lead 1-0 in the 32nd minute of play on a goal by David Freire. The Bloodhounds tied the contest less than 10 minutes later on Llanos’ strike at 41:00 before going into halftime with the score deadlocked.
 
New York City Tech took the lead with a game winning goal early in the second half on a score by Marcin Baran at 49:00. John Jay failed to record an equalizer as the Bloodhounds finished 4-13-0 on the season and ninth place in conference play.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Chris Adao made four saves for John Jay.
