Women's Swimming Falls at College of New Rochelle in Season Opener

New Rochelle, N.Y.— The John Jay women’s swimming team opened up its 2008-09 season with a loss on the road as the Bloodhounds were defeated at the College of New Rochelle (CNR) 136-114 on Monday evening.
 
Kaili Insalaco, in her first NCAA meet had a spectacular debut sweeping all three of her races. She won the 50 yard freestyle (31.05), 100 yard freestyle (1:03.20) and 200 yard freestyle (2:28.50).Fellow teammate, senior Ashley Stewart, claimed first place in a pair of events, winning the 50 yard breaststroke (40.19) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:25.50). Stewart took second in the 200 yard individual medley (2:52.17).
 
Rose Edelman came in second in a trio of races, claiming the place spot 100 yard freestyle (1:06.53), 50 yard breaststroke (45.97) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:34.53)
 
In the 500 yard freestyle Nathalie Cuellar came in second (7:33.34), while Deandra Beach was fourth (9:00.32).
 
John Jay returns to action on Fri. Nov. 7 for its 2008-09 home opener against the College of Staten Island at 6 p.m.
