Brooklyn, N.Y.— The John Jay softball team defeated conference foe Brooklyn College, 13-3 in a non conference game on Thursday. Earlier in the day the Bloodhounds defeated the Bridges in a conference game.
In the non league affair Pamela Peralta (Bronx, NY / John F. Kennedy) was 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Fellow teammate Christina Perez (Brooklyn, NY / James Madison) was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI.
John Jay scored a run in the first, five in the third, one in the fourth and six in the sixth to take a 13-3 lead and win via the mercy rule after six innings.
Nina Chao (Woodside, NY / Bryant) earned the win after going six innings and allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits with four strikeouts.
