Softball Loses Both Games of a Doubleheader at Farmingdale State

Farmingdale, N.Y. – The John Jay softball team lost a pair of non conference games on the road as the Bloodhounds were defeated by Farmingdale State on Tuesday afternoon, losing the first game 8-0 before losing the second game 9-0. The Bloodhounds now stand at 10-19 on the season.
 
In the first game the Bloodhounds were held to two hits over five innings as the host Rams won via the five inning mercy rule. Farmingdale State got five runs in the second, one in the fourth and two in the fifth to seal the contest.
 
Danielle Bonici (Staten Island, NY / St. Peter’s Girls) and Christina Perez (Brooklyn, NY / James Madison) had one hit apiece in the opener and the Bloodhounds left five runners on base in the contest.
 
In the second game Bonici went 2-for-2 and Marlenne Nunez (Bronx, NY / Bronx Leadership) got a hit as the Bloodhounds were held to three hits and the host Rams won via the five inning mercy rule.
 
John Jay returns to action on Thu. Apr. 22 for a home game against York College at 3:30 p.m.
