Men’s Soccer Loses Heartbreaker at York

Jamaica, N.Y.— The John Jay men’s soccer team lost a heartbreaker on Saturday as York College broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 89th minute to hand the Bloodhounds a 1-0 loss at the York College Soccer Complex. The Bloodhounds are now 2-6 (0-2 CUNYAC) on the season.
 
York’s Jameel Fraser scored the game’s only goal at the 88:15 mark to give John Jay their second consecutive loss and sixth this season.
 
John Jay recorded 12 shots in the contest and had a team co-high from Henrique Avellar and Daniel Munoz who had three apiece.
 
Both schools had 12 shots each in the contest, including five each in the first half and seven in the second period.
 
Chris Adao made six saves in net for the Bloodhounds.
 
John Jay returns to action on Wed. Sept. 24 at Medgar Evers College at 4 p.m.
