Men’s Soccer Falls on Road at Lehman

Bronx, N.Y.— John Jay men's soccer team lost a close one on the road on Saturday as the Bloodhounds fell to Lehman College 1-0 at Lehman's South Field.

The loss leaves John Jay at 1-8-2 overall and 0-3-2 in City University of New York Athletic Conference play.

The lone goal of the game was scored by Lehman's Geovanny Arredonde at the 32;24 mark of the first half which proved to be enough as John Jay's winless streak is at 10 games.

The Bloodhounds registered 22 shots in the contest and were led by Johan Quinde (Aragua, Venezuela, Samuel Gompers)who blasted a game-high seven. Steven Castillo (Maspeth, NY, Forest Hills) registered five shots for John Jay, while Omar Herrera (Elmhurst, NY, Art and Business) and Kareem Roberts (St. Albans, NY, William Taft) each had four.

The host Lightning outshot John Jay in the contest by three as both teams took a majority of their shots in the first half. Lehman and John Jay combined for 37 shots in the first 45 minutes of play. Lehman ripped 20 and John Jay 17.

Joseph Rahilly (Malverne, NY, Malverne) made nine saves for John Jay.

John Jay returns to action on Wed. Oct. 7 at the College of Staten Island at 3:30 p.m.
