Men's Soccer Loses at Mahnattanville College

Purchase, N.Y.— The John Jay College of Criminal Justice men's soccer team was defeated on the road losing at Manhattanville College 7-1 on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, John Jay is now 1-4-1 overall this season.

Kareem Roberts (St. Albans, NY, William Taft) scored John Jay's lone goal when he reached the back of the mesh in the 77th minute breaking the Valiants' shutout.

Manhattanville scored three goals in the first half to lead 3-0 at the break. The Valiants got on the board at the 15:29 marker on a goal by Sebestian Chica. Fourteen minutes later, Manhattanville struck again on what would prove to be the game winning goal as Michael Abbondondolo scored a goal that gave the Valiants a two-goal lead.

John Jay was held to three shots in the contest and two were recorded by Roberts, including the goal. Omar Herrera (Elmhurst, NY, Art and Business) recorded John Jay's other shot in the contest as Manhattanville outshot John Jay 24-3.

Joseph Rahilly made 12 saves for the Bloodhounds.

John Jay returns to action on Mon. Sept. 21 for a match against Polytechnic University at 7 p.m. at Aviator Field.
