Men’s Soccer Falls 2-0 to Polytehcnic

Brooklyn, N.Y.— The John Jay men's soccer team was defeated on the road Monday evening as the Bloodhounds lost to Polytechnic University, 2-0, at Aviator Field.

With the loss, John Jay is now 1-5-1 this season.

The host Fighting Blue Jays scored a goal each in the first half and second half en route to the 2-0 decision.

Polytechnic outshot the Bloodhounds 15-8 in the contest. Polytechnic scored the only goal it would need in the 38th minute on a shot from 20 yards out by Diego Schwartz who took a pass between defenders to beat the John Jay goalkeeper, Chris Adao (Colonia, NJ, Colonia), who made six saves in the contest.

John Jay's best chance of the evening came with five minutes to go in the first half when they were awarded a penalty kick that sailed high and wide of the net.

Polytechnic got its other goal in the 63rd minute on a driving header off a corner kick by Nick Michalczewski and the Fightling Blue Jays led 2-0.

John Jay returns to action on Wed. Sept. 23 for a home contest against Medgar Evers College at the Metropolitan Oval at 4 p.m.
