Jersey City, N.J.— The John Jay men's soccer team suffered its worst loss of the season as the Bloodhounds were defeated 10-0 at New Jersey City University (NJCU) at Robert McNulty Field.
With the loss, John Jay is now 5-7-2 this season.
The host Gothic Knights scored four goals in the first half and six more in the second in the contest.
NJCU got the only goal it needed at the 12:45 mark. Two players for the Gothic Knights, including
Nana Kofi Kusi and
Walter Avans scored three goals each in the match.
NJCU outshot John Jay 22-8 overall in the contest. The Bloodhounds took three shots on goal, including one each from
Jason Walker (Windsor, CT, Windsor),
M. Nasim Allah Morad (Flushing, NY, Flushing International) and
Luis Gabriel Flores (Newark, NJ, Arts).
Steven Merino made four saves for the Bloodhounds.
John Jay returns to action on Wed. Oct. 13 for a conference match against the City College of New York at 3:30 p.m.
