New Rochelle, N.Y.— The John Jay women's swimming team earned its first win of the season after a 95-79 win at the College of New Rochelle on Tuesday evening. The Bloodhounds improved to 1-1 on the season.
Kaili Insalaco won a pair of events, including the 200 yard freestyle (2:26.34) and 500 yard freestyle (6:35.60), so to did
Vanessa Toro-Plaza as she won the 50 yard freestyle (30.88) and 100 yard freestyle (1:18.08).
Jezebel Erazo was a winner in the 100 yard butterfly (1:28.39), while
Billie Jean Kuppler was second in both the 200 freestyle (2:40.67) and 500 yard freestyle (7:21.21).
John Jay was also a winner in the 400 yard free relay (4:55.59) as Toro-Plaza, Kuppler, Erazo and Insalaco combined for the victory.
John Jay is back in action on Thu. Nov. 18 at Hunter College at 6 p.m.
