Bronx, N.Y.— The John Jay women's swimming team lost a close one on Monday evening as the Bloodhounds lost at Lehman College 103-98 at the Apex Arena.
With the loss, John Jay is now 1-3 (0-3 CUNYAC) this season.
Kaili Insalaco,
Regina Firayner and
Megan Maiello all earned at least one win, while Insalaco was victorious in a pair.
Insalaco earned a pair of wins on the evening in individual events as she finished first place in the 1000 yard freestyle (13:37.87) and won again in the 500 yard freestyle (6:36.66).
Firayner earned a win in the 100 yard backstroke (1:27.06), while Maiello was victorious in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:35.49).
The Bloodhounds also picked up a win in the 200 yard free relay as
Vanessa Toro-Plaza,
Laura Galeano,
Keshia Hacker and
Billie Jean Kuppler swam to victory in 2:12.21.
John Jay also picked up second place finishes in several events as Toro-Plaza finished runner up in the 50 yard freestyle (30.29) and 100 yard freestyle (1:12.81).
John Jay is back in action on Monday November 29 for a home meet against the College of St. Elizabeth at 6 p.m.
