Flushing, N.Y.— The John Jay men's tennis teams quest to finish 2010 undefeated was denied on Saturday as the Bloodhounds suffered their first loss of the season as they were defeated by Hunter College 7-2 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

John Jay fell in all three doubles matches to trail 3-0 heading into singles competition.

Dong Shao (Flushing, NY, Patchogue-Medford) was a winner at No. 2 singles (6-3, 6-3), while Derrick Chung (San Diego, CA, Rancho Buena Vista) was victorious at No.5 singles (2-6, 6-2, 6-3).

Josh Pagan (Douglaston, NY, Benjamin Cardozo) suffered his first loss in a John Jay uniform losing at No. 1 singles (1-6, 2-6), ending his 14-match winning streak which dates back to last season.

John Jay returns to action on Mon. Apr. 12 for a match against St. Joseph's-Long Island in a make-up match from Mar. 26. The match will be played at Suffolk Community College Tennis Complex at 4 p.m.
