Men's Tennis Defeats Baruch (Updated April 15)

Flushing, N.Y.— The John Jay men's tennis team lost a close one on Tuesday losing 5-4 to Baruch College at the National Tennis Center.

The Bloodhounds are now 4-2 (2-2 CUNYAC) this season.

John Jay fell behind 2-1 in doubles play before entering singles. The Bloodhounds lone win in doubles was at No.2 where Josh Pagan (Douglaston, NY, Benjamin Cardozo) and Ben Jorgensen (New York, NY, Wooster) were 8-5 winners.

In singles play, Pagan strolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win No. 1, while Dong Shao (Flushing, NY, Patchogue-Medford) won by tbe same scores at No. 2 singles.

Derrick Chung (San Diego, CA, Rancho Buena Vista) won at No. 5 singles 6-1, 7-6, and with the teams deadlocked at 4-4, Baruch pulled out a three set win at No. 4 singles, as frsshman Stephen Walz (Ramsey, NJ, Ramsey) lost narrowly 6-0, 4-6, 2-6.

John Jay is back in action on Wednesday for a match against Albertus Magnus College at 5:30 p.m.
