Men's Tennis Victorious Again, Wins 7-2 over Lehman

Bronx, N.Y.— The John Jay men's tennis team picked up another win on Friday afternoon and improved to 7-1 (4-1 CUNYAC) overall this season in the process as the Bloodhounds defeated Lehman College 7-2 at the Lehman College Tennis Complex.

After falling behind 2-0 after defaulting on third doubles and sixth singles, the Bloodhounds quickly got two victories in first and second doubles, winning 8-0 and 8-4 respectively.

In singles play, Ben Jorgensen (New York, NY, Wooster) was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 2 and Derrick Chung (San Diego, CA, Rancho Buena Vista) won by the same scores at No. 4.

At No. 3 singles, Stephen Walz (Ramsey, NJ, Ramsey), after losing the first set 3-6, rallied back from a 5-4 deficit in the second set to win 7-6 (7-2 tie breaker) to force a third set where he rolled to a 10-2 victory to complete the match.

John Jay is back in action on Mon. Apr. 19 for a match at Brooklyn College at 4 p.m.
