Baseball Loses 12-4 at Mount Saint Mary’s

Fishkill, N.Y.— The John Jay baseball team was defeated by the College of Mount Saint Mary (CMSM) 12-4 under the lights on Thursday evening at Dutchess Field.

John Jay, now 8-25 this season, had a run in the top of the first and led 1-0 to start. But the host Blue Knights scored two in the bottom half to lead 2-1. CMSM scored another in the second, five in the third and four in the fifth to lead 12-1 after five innings.

The Bloodhounds put up three in the ninth, but not enough as they fell 12-4.

John Jay had six hits in the contest and got a pair from Steven Kendrick (Bronx, NY, Sacred Heart), while Cosme Munoz (Brooklyn, NY, John Dewey), Wilmer Chavez (Corona, NY, Queens Vocational), Keenan Lambert (Brooklyn, NY, Benjamin Banneker) and Benjamin Beiro (Bronx, NY, Wesley Chapel) had one each. Beiro was 1-for-5 with a run and an RBI.

John Jay is back in action on Saturday April 24 for a home doubleheader against the City College of New York at noon.
