Men’s Tennis Remains Undefeated, Defeats CCNY 6-3

Flushing, N.Y.— The men's tennis team improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in City University of New York Athletic Conference play as the Bloodhounds defeated the City College of New York (CCNY) 6-3 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.

The Bloodhounds took two of three matches in doubles to lead 2-1 before heading into singles play. John Jay won four of six matches in singles play to ensure the win.

Josh Pagan (Douglaston, NY, Benjamin Cardozo) was a winner (6-3, 6-3) at No. 1 singles to remain perfect in his John Jay career. Dong Shao (Flushing, NY, Patchogue-Medford) was a winner at No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-2). Stephen Walz (Ramsey, NJ, Ramsey) earned a win at No. 4 singles (6-4, 6-0) and Derrick Chung (San Diego, CA, Rancho Buena Vista) won at No. 5. (6-1, 6-4).

John Jay returns to action on Sat. Apr. 10 against Hunter College at noon.
