Wayne, N.J.— The John Jay women's tennis team was defeated by William Paterson University, 8-1 in the 2010 season opener on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Elizabeth Cyran (Wood Ridge, NJ, Paramus Catholic) was the Bloodhounds' lone winner as she was victorious at No. 1 singles (7-5, 6-4). John Jay (0-1) will be back in action on Mon. Sept. 7 at Rutgers-Newark University at 4:30 p.m.
