Staten Island, N.Y.— The John Jay women's tennis team was defeated by Baruch College 8-1 at the College of Staten Island Tennis Complex.

Ashley Marrero (Bronx, NY, Lehman) and Lauren Mallon (Staten Island, NY, St. Savioiur) at No. 2 doubles was John Jay's only win on the day (8-6).

John Jay is back in action on Sun. Sept. 19 for a match against the City College of New York, 12 p.m. at the York College Tennis Complex.
