Brooklyn, N.Y.— The John Jay College men's soccer team defeated New York City College of Technology 3-1 in a conference match at Floyd Bennett Field on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, John Jay is now 5-3-0 (2-0-0 CUNYAC) this season.
M. Nasim Allah Morad (Flushing, NY, Flushing International) and Ganama Issouf (Bronx, NY, Lycee Linda)netted a goal each in the first half to give the Bloodhounds a 2-0 advantage at halftime. Then Jeimy Polo (Miami, FL, Forest Hills) scored the team's other goal with a strike in the second half to put John Jay up by three.
The host Yellow Jackets scored their only goal late in the contest to deny the Bloodhounds a shutout.
John Jay outshot City Tech 11-7 in the contest.
Jason Walker (Windsor, CT, Windsor), Kareem Roberts (St. Albans, NY, William Taft) and Edward Gonzalez (Palm Bay, FL, Bayside) had assists on the goal for the Bloodhounds.
Kemar Brown (Kingston, Jamaica, Martin Van Buren) and Steven Merino (Bronx, NY, Salesian)made one save each in the win.
John Jay is back in action on Sat. Sept. 25 for a match against Lehman College, 2 p.m. at the Metropolitan Oval.
