Newark, N.J.— The John Jay women's tennis team was defeated by Rutgers-Newark 8-1 at the Golden Dome Courts on Tuesday afternoon. Wilesca Belhomme (Brooklyn, NY, Tilden) was John Jay's lone winner as she was victorious at No. 6 singles (6-3, 6-2) for her first win of the season. John Jay is back in action on Thu. Sept. 9 at York College at 3:30 p.m.
