Old Westbury, N.Y.— The John Jay women's soccer team was defeated by SUNY College of Old Westbury 6-0 at Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex on Wednesday afternoon.
The loss leaves the Bloodhounds at 4-11-0 on the year.
The host Panthers scored one goal in the first before netting five in the second half for the six-goal win.
SUNY Old Westbury outshot John Jay 37-4 in the contest, including 20-2 in the first half and 17-2 in the second half.
The Panthers were led by Cassandra Esposito and JoAnna Kettell who netted five of the six goals. Esposito netted three, while Kettell scored two. The other goal was scored by Stephanie Maybie.
Marcelina Kopec made 20 saves in the game to tie a career-high she just set in the previous game on Monday at Ramapo College.
John Jay returns to action on Monday October 17 for a game at William Paterson University at 5 p.m.
