Men's Soccer Wraps up Regular Season with Win at College of Mount Saint Vincent

Yonkers, N.Y.— In its final tune-up before the conference championship, the John Jay men's soccer team picked up a non conference win on Monday by defeating the College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) 2-1 at Fleming Park.
 
With the win, the John Jay men's soccer regular season ends at 6-11-3 overall. The Bloodhounds have the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 seed Hunter College at the Metropolitan Oval at 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the quarterfinal round of the CUNYAC / Applebee's men's soccer championship.  
 
In Monday's win, the Bloodhounds trailed 1-0 midway through the first half before knotting the score even on a goal by Korede Griffith at 32:33. The Bloodhounds scored what proved to be the game winning goal at the 78:12 mark on a strike by Enrique Alvarez.
 
The host Dolphins scored the first goal of the game at the 24:51 mark on a score by Joseph Rosado before the Bloodhounds netted the other two for the win.
 
John Jay outshot CMSV 25-8, including 11-4 in the first half and 14-4 in the second half.
 
The Bloodhounds took nine corner kicks in the contest to one for CMSV.
 
Nicholas Todaro made his first start in net since Sept. 6 and made three saves, while Dolphins' starting goalkeeper made Matt Calandrillo made eight saves in net for CMSV.
