Box Score Jersey City, N.J.— The John Jay women's soccer team was defeated on the road by New Jersey City University (NJCU) 8-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bloodhounds were held without a shot in the contest and were outshot by the host Gothic Knights 53-0.
NJCU scored four goals in the first half and another four in the second. The Gothic Knights scored the only goal they would need 6:31 into the contest on a strike by Julia Caseres. Forty-seven seconds later, NJCU scored again on a goal by Jennifer Albuja.
Another goal by Caseres at 14:33 and a strike by Isley Perez at 31:47 gave the Gothic Knights a 4-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Janine Casale netted a goal at 56:23, before Amanda Filippone netted the next two to put the Gothic Knights up 7-0. A goal by Angelica Glover rounded out the scoring for NJCU.
NJCU took 10 corner kicks to none for the Bloodhounds.
Marcelina Kopec made 11 saves for John Jay.
