Randall's Island, N.Y.— The John Jay men' s soccer team picked up a critical point in the conference standings as the Bloodhounds played Hunter College to a 0-0 tie on Randall's Island on Saturday evening.
With the tie, the Bloodhounds are now 2-10-3 (2-3-1 CUNYAC), and with seven points, remain in the thick of the hunt for a playoff spot with two games remaining.
Neither team fired the ball much in what appeared to be a neutral zone contest. Hunter outshot John Jay 7-6 over the 110 minute contest, including 6-4 in the regulation ninety minutes. The Bloodhounds held a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Rafi Mashirqi took a team-high three shots, two of which were landed on net, while
Korede Griffith took two and
Navid Allah Morad took one.
Eduardo Delgado and Yong Sung Kim took two shots each for the Hawks.
Vitecha Vochaon made two saves for the Bloodhounds.
John Jay is back in action on Monday for a home game on Monday against New Jersey City University at 4 p.m.
