Box Score Port Charlotte, Fla. — The John Jay baseball team was defeated on Wednesday afternoon as the Bloodhounds lost to Adrian College, 16-3 at the Snowbird Classic Games.
With the loss, the Bloodhounds fall to 0-3 on the season.
John Jay was led by
Wilmer Chavez with two hits and an RBI, while freshman
Yahnny Arias had his first two hits as an NCAA player.
Adrian College scored three runs in the second and seven in the seventh to lead 10-0 after three innings. Adrian was up 12-0 before John Jay got on the scoreboard.
The Bloodhounds scored a run in the fifth and two in the eighth.
Alex Rodriguez suffered the loss after going 2 1/3 innings and allowing seven runs on three hits.
The Bloodhounds continue their southern trip with a game against Medaille College on Friday at 6 p.m.
