Brooklyn, N.Y.— The John Jay softball team lost a pair of conference games on Monday afternoon as the Bloodhounds were defeated by Brooklyn College 9-2 in game one and 12-4 in game two.
With the losses John Jay is now 3-5 overall this season (0-2 CUNYAC).
In game one,
Angela Lam was 4-for-4 with a double and a run scored, while
Christina Perez was 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Brooklyn scored four runs in the second and three in the third to lead 7-0 after two and a half innings.
The Bloodhounds, who served as the home team, got one run back in the bottom of the third on a single by Perez that scored Lam.
But Brooklyn kept the Bloodhounds at arm's length distance. John Jay's other run came in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI double by Brigitte Martinez that scored
Kalyssa Daley who got on base with a double.
Brooklyn's Ashley Allen was 2-for-4 with a double, triple, two runs and four RBI.
In the second game, the Bulldogs scored five in the top of the second to go out in front 5-0. Allen continued on her big afternoon by capping the inning with a two run homer. She was 2-for-2 with a run and four RBI.
Lana Kovac was 2-for-3m with a run for John Jay in game two, while
Kaitlyn Walsh was 1-for-2 with a double, two runs and an RBI.
John Jay is back in action on Thu. March 31 for a home doubleheader against St. Joseph's-Long Island at 3:30 p.m.
