Baseball Falls to Arcadia University

Philadelphia, Pa.— The John Jay baseball team was defeated by Arcadia University 12-4 at Enry Field on Tuesday afternoon.

With the loss, John Jay is now 7-22 on the season.

The Bloodhounds had 10 hits in the contest and had at least one each from eight of the nine hitters in the starting line-up. Dennis Lopez and Ryan Corrigan had a pair of hits each.

The host Knights scored five runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead for good. Arcadia scored again in the second frame to lead 6-0 after two innings.

John Jay got on the board with a score in the third on an RBI single by Ryan Corrigan that scored Corry Harper. The Bloodhounds edged closer in the fourth inning with another two runs. First Cosme Munoz scored on an RBI double by Bobby Villante. Then Villante scored on a sacrifice fly by Yahnny Arias.

But Arcadia proceeded to score a run in the bottom of the fourth and two in the fifth before piling on three in the seventh to lead 12-3.

The Bloodhounds final run was scored in the ninth on a groundout that scored Villante from third, his second of the game.

Braylin Perez suffered the loss after going just one inning and allowing five runs on three hits.
