Box Score Bronx, N.Y.— The John Jay baseball team was defeated by St. Joseph's-Brooklyn 9-2 at Coffey Field on the campus of Fordham University on Tuesday.
With the loss, John Jay is now 9-29 overall this season.
The Bloodhounds had nine hits in the game and were led by
Yahnny Arias and
Steven Kendrick with two apiece.
Dennis Lopez,
Wilmer Chavez,
Corry Harper,
Cosme Munoz and
John Paul Zinser had one hit each.
The visiting Bears scored three runs in the third inning, another in the fourth, four in the seventh and another in the eighth to go up 9-0. The Bloodhounds two runs were scored in the bottom of the eighth. First, Arias singled in Munoz., Then Lopez reached on a fielder's choice, but an error by the Bears allowed Zinser to score on the play.
St. Joseph's-Brooklyn was led by Joe Boccia, Jon Mendez and Daniel Zaretsky with two hits each, while Joe Mendez had a pair of runs batted in.
