Newburgh, N.Y.— The John Jay women's soccer team suffered an 8-1 defeat at the College of Mount Saint Mary on Monday afternoon.
With the loss, John Jay is now 3-5-0 overall this season.
The host Blue Knights scored four goals in the first half and another four in the second half en route to the win.
John Jay's only goal was on the team's only shot.
Alexis Ochoa netted her team leading third goal of the season at the 76:21 mark of the game.
The College of Mount Saint Mary outshot the Bloodhounds 40-1 overall, including 29-0 in the first half.
The Blue Knights got two goals each from Sara Sheehan, Trish Lasasso and Erin McKeon. McKeon took a game-high seven shots for the home team.
Marcelina Kopec made 15 saves in the Bloodhound loss.
