Medford, N.Y.— The John Jay women's soccer team lost on the road Thursday night as the Bloodhounds fell to St. Joseph's-Long Island at the Medford Sports Complex.
With the loss, John Jay falls back to two games under .500 as they are now 4-6-0 this season.
The Bloodhounds were outshot 35-1 overall on shots, including 19-1 in shots on goal.
Alexis Ochoa took John Jay's only shot in the game, which landed on net.
Marcelina Kopec made 13 saves for the Bloodhounds in the contest.
The host Golden Eagles scored a pair of goals in the first half to lead 2-0 at halftime. St. Joseph's-Long Island took the lead 2:34 into the contest on a goal by Shanise Brown. Then at 33:47 the Golden Eagles scored again on a strike by Crysta Gizzi.
In the second half, the Golden Eagles got a pair of goals by Sarah Hansen, and one each by Elizabeth Pulaski and Kimberly Essig.
John Jay did not attempt a corner kick, while the Golden Eagles attempted 10.
John Jay returns to action on Saturday for a game at the College of Staten Island at 2 p.m.
