Men’s Soccer Loses at Montclair State

Little Falls, N.J.— The John Jay men's soccer team was defeated by Montclair State 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

With the loss, the Bloodhounds fall to 0-4-0 on the season.

The host Red Hawks scored 9:23 into the contest to score the only goal they would prove to need.

But Montclair State scored three more times in the opening half to take a 4-0 lead at halftime. The Red Hawks then scored five more times over the final forty-five minutes to win by the nine goal count.

John Jay was limited to five shots in the contest and got a pair from Navid Allah Morad. Montclair State outshot the Bloodhounds 31-5 overall, including 17-3 in the first half and 14-2 in the second half.

Montclair State got three goals from Jesse Shea, all of which came in the second half.

Nicholas Todaro made eight saves in net for the Bloodhounds.

John Jay is back in action on Friday September 9 for the opening round of the Stockton Classic. The Bloodhounds play at host Richard Stockton College at 5 p.m.
