Women’s Swimming Sails Past College of New Rochelle

New York, N.Y.— The John Jay women's swimming team closed out its 2011-12 home schedule in grand style on Friday evening as the Bloodhounds coasted to its fifth victory of the season with a 59-34 win over the College of New Rochelle at John Jay Pool.
 
The win improves the Bloodhounds to 5-3 overall this season to guarantee them a record of over .500 for the first time in program history. John Jay has one more regular season contest, a meet at Brooklyn College before going headlong into the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) swimming championships in two weeks.
 
In Friday's win, the Bloodhounds led from start to finish. John Jay scored first place finishes in the first five events to go ahead 39-4. The Bloodhounds not only picked up wins in those events, but earned second place finishes as well.
 
After finishing second in the sixth event (100 yard butterfly), the Bloodhounds proceeded to win the following two events, before giving way to exhibition.
